How to play

Check the library's opening time and bring a library card if you need one.

Read a few pages together before the children decide which books to borrow.

Borrow the books and place them in a bag that is easy to carry.

Keep the books in one place at home and note when they should be returned.
Variations
- Choose one book each on a shared theme such as animals, space or humour.
- Ask older children to choose one book for themselves and one to read to somebody else.
- Join an activity or story session if the library offers one that day.
Tip
Give children time to browse before choosing, and help them find books they genuinely want to open at home.
