- Group size
- 6+ children
- Place
- Indoors or outdoors

- puzzle cards, answer sheets and pencils, tape or clips
Duration: 30–60 minutes · Energy level: Medium
How to play
- 1
Choose six to eight puzzles and place the stations along a short, easy-to-manage route.
- 2
Walk the route and remove obstacles before the children start.
- 3
Divide the children into small teams and give each team an answer sheet and pencil.
- 4
Start teams at different stations and let them move on after writing an answer.
- 5
Gather everyone after the final station and check the solutions together.
- 6
Give teams time to try again if a puzzle was difficult or unclear.
Variations
- Use only picture puzzles and spoken answers for younger children.
- Add a small teamwork challenge between every other puzzle.
- Ask older children to create two new puzzles for an extra round.
Tip
Make solving and teamwork more important than speed, and avoid placing stations where teams would run on stairs or around blind corners. Laminate the stations before placing them outside so they withstand rain and can be used again.
Rules can vary between places. Read how we work with sources, variations and quality checks.
