Have an adult handle the hot oven, hot tins and sharp tools.

Cool the cake, decorate it together and tidy the kitchen before tasting it.
Variations
- Make cupcakes so each child can decorate their own.
- Choose a no-bake cake when you want to avoid using the oven.
